Beer Can Chicken
Smoked Beer Can Chicken

Ingredients:
2      ea         3-4 lb Whole chickens

6      Tbsp     Olive oil
1      C          Spice Union Barbeque Spice Rub
2      ea         12 oz Cans of beer

  1. Preheat your gas/charcoal grill or smoker to 335°F- setting up for indirect cooking.

  2. Drink half of each beer.  We know; rough assignment here.

  3. Coat the chickens with the olive oil- coating all surfaces.

  4. Generously season both chickens; front, back & sides- making sure the entire chicken is coated with Spice Union Barbeque Spice Rub.

  5. Slide a half full can of beer into the cavity of each chicken.

  6. Using the beer cans as ‘stands’, place the chickens standing up on the indirect heat side of the grill.

  7. Cook the chicken until the thighs reach an internal temperature of 165°F (about 60-70 minutes).

  8. Remove the chickens from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes before cutting.
