Beer Can Chicken
Ingredients:
2 ea 3-4 lb Whole chickens
6 Tbsp Olive oil
1 C Spice Union Barbeque Spice Rub
2 ea 12 oz Cans of beer
-
Preheat your gas/charcoal grill or smoker to 335°F- setting up for indirect cooking.
-
Drink half of each beer. We know; rough assignment here.
-
Coat the chickens with the olive oil- coating all surfaces.
-
Generously season both chickens; front, back & sides- making sure the entire chicken is coated with Spice Union Barbeque Spice Rub.
-
Slide a half full can of beer into the cavity of each chicken.
-
Using the beer cans as ‘stands’, place the chickens standing up on the indirect heat side of the grill.
-
Cook the chicken until the thighs reach an internal temperature of 165°F (about 60-70 minutes).
-
Remove the chickens from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes before cutting.
