Hosting a crowd for the big game?  Keep the cheers coming with this simple roasted pork butt.  

Oven Roasted Pork Butt

Ingredients:

1          ea        4 lb Pork butt

3/4       C         Spice Union Smokin’ Piggy Rub

2          ea        Medium onions- peeled and in 1/2 inch slices

 

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F.

  2. Liberally coat the pork butt with Spice Union Smokin' Piggy Rub.

  3. Line the bottom of a roasting pan with the sliced onions.

  4. Place the pork butt into the roasting pan and cover with a lid.

  5. Roast at 300°F for about 4 hours or internal temperature of 180°F (the meat will be fork tender when done).

  6. Remove lid and continue to roast until browned on top (about 30 minutes).

  7. Remove the pork butt from the oven and let rest for 20 minutes.

  8. With two large forks, shred the pork butt and onions.

  9. Serve the shredded pork butt on soft rolls with coleslaw, pickled onions and your favorite barbeque sauce.
