
Classic Barbecue Sauce

Ingredients:
4 oz Butter
1 1/2 C Onion- diced
1 1/2 C Ketchup
1/4 C Light brown sugar
1/4 C Molasses
1/2 C Apple cider vinegar
3 Tbsp Tamarind paste
Splash Worcestershire
1 Tsp Chipotle chili powder
1 Tsp Kosher Salt
1 Tsp Black pepper
2 Tsp Garlic- minced

In a 2 Qt stainless steel sauce pan, over medium heat, melt butter.

Add the onion to the butter and cook until the onion is translucent.

Add the remaining ingredients and stir to combine.

Continue to cook over medium heat for 30-40 minutes, stirring every 3-4 minutes.

Once the sauce is well combined and coats the back of a spoon, it is done cooking.

Remove the sauce pan from the stove and allow the barbeque sauce to cool to room temperature.

Place the sauce into a blender and blend until smooth.

Set aside until ready to use.

Store in a glass jar in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
